Black money bill likely to be tabled in Lok Sabha

To check the black money menace, a bill is likely to be tabled in Lok Sabha tomorrow with stringent provisions to prosecute those stashing illicit wealth abroad, with rigorous imprisonment of up to 10 years.
The Undisclosed Foreign Income and Assets (Imposition of New Tax) Bill, 2015, also provides for a short window for those holding overseas assets to declare their wealth, pay taxes and penalties to escape punitive action.

The Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Bill, 2012

Highlights of the Bill
  • The Bill aims to protect the livelihood rights of street vendors as well as regulate street vending through demarcation of vending zones, conditions for and restrictions on street vending.
  • Any person intending to undertake street vending needs to register with the Town Vending Committee (TVC).  He may then apply for a vending certificate that will be issued based on various criteria.
